Antique Iron Beds
Antique Iron beds, first produced in the mid 19th C, were hand made until about the end of the first World War. They were hand poured, polished and painstakingly designed with intricate patterns. After WWI, the iron industry caught on to the methods of mass-production that had been developed during the war, and driven by the cost-effective methods, the larger companies destroyed the business of the fine iron artisans. For these reasons, antique iron beds, from before WWI and after, are hugely popular, and they are extreme in their longevity. If you want a bed that will last forever, look on eBay to find a great antique iron bed, and you'll buy a family heirloom that will outlast your grandchildren.
